a night out

My hubby and I went on a much needed date night on Saturday. For Christmas I got him tickets to a Wichita Thunder Hockey game. I pictured a fun evening out and didn’t even think about all that this night would actually entail. Now that we have the little man, then it also meant we needed a babysitter. We have only had family and friends watch him so far, and never a “real” babysitter under the age of thirty. Oh boy. First step, we found a willing and trustworthy participant. Then I thought through all the information I needed to pass on for any combination of ‘what if’ scenarios. Including how to put him down for bed. I had second thoughts at this point. And then the question of what you actually pay someone to care for your most valuable and dependant possession. If I pay her more then will she understand the trust I am putting in her and how important this little man is to me? Probably not. Finally, the task of getting out the door. I had to get myself date worthy (which doesn't happen often) and the little man sitter ready. A few extra nerves were involved since he chose to only nap for 30 minutes that day and then not eat dinner. He must have known that this was going to be a big night.

It’s a wonder I was able to enjoy myself at all! But we had a good time!!! It helped getting a text to reassure me that he was fast asleep without any troubles. Darn, he didn’t need me there. I mean - Whew, I’m glad he’s sleeping soundly.

It helps that we have the "perfect" baby that is "super easy". Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
We have the baby that is perfectly happy as long as anyone is within 2 feet of him. Big difference.

Corey and I were tempted to get a hotel room and take a nap. Get your mind out of the gutter. I seriously would have paid for some sleep that evening. Proof that we really were at Intrust Arena:

We're going to have to do this more often!
What's a post without an updated picture of the one that you really want to see?!
